Style Caddies Golf Presents: The Best West Side of Cleveland Golf Courses

Style Caddies Golf Presents:  The Best West Side of Cleveland Golf Courses.

This is a 2-minute read of my inner thoughts as I sit here wishing it was summer and thinking about golf.

Category 1- Regular Public Golf Course

Bob-O-Links- Starting off, my personal favorite is Bob-O-Links Golf Course. It has several different options of courses you would like to play, making it a different experience each time. With that variety, there typically isn't a whole lot of waiting.  You can easily book online and if you call in, they can squeeze you in.  Anybody can play at this course and has a good variety of tougher holes and some where you can pad your scorecard. Everybody there is super nice and I've never had a bad experience. Most golfers have their “go-to” home base course, and this one is mine.  There are many times where I go up there for a quick nine holes and I'll be done within an hour and a half. It has a small driving range and a practice putting green. The clubhouse is pretty standard but exactly what you would think your old-school type of Clubhouse would be. Grab your hot dogs and beer and you are good to go. Not fancy or anything, no hustle and bustle, just come as you may and enjoy the day!

Honorable Mention- Springvale Golf Course. A very pretty golf course and a favorite for early mornings.  Everyone is super nice and will be happy you went here.

Style Caddies Golf Recommended Outfit – Dress comfy for this one and have a little fun. I am going with our Pretty Splat Blade Polo, Pretty in Pink Performance Hat, and our Gold on Gold Shades.

Category 2- Higher-End Public Golf Course

Valley of the Eagles- Without a doubt, this category goes to Valley of the Eagles in Elyria. A Jack Nicholas design course will surely challenge your golf abilities. A beautiful course with holes that have water and several challenges throughout. After playing, you will not believe that this gem is public and in Elyria. What may be even better is the restaurant. Terrific food to go along with a terrific course. Very beautiful, very challenging and maybe the best public golf course in Ohio.  If you are an average golfer, bring extra balls.  Normally if I do not play well it puts me in a bad mood but it is hard to do that here.  You’ll leave happy no matter what.  Go grab a tall Blue Moon and a burger at the restaurant.  Terrific food and great people.

Honorable Mention- Sweetbriar Golf Club in Avon Lake. Another beautiful course surrounded by nice homes and a beautiful driving range. Beautiful facility and great food. It's a bit nicer, fancier, and has better amenities from your standard public course which puts it in the high-end category.

Style Caddies Golf Recommended Outfit-  I am going with our Shape-Up Golf Polo Shirt, our Tiffany Blue Performance Hat, and our Platina Performance Sunglasses.

Category 3- Private Country Club

Lakewood Country Club (LCC)- This one goes to Lakewood Country Club in Westlake. Talk about service, this place gives you that Florida vibe and type of treatment. Beautiful facilities, an amazing restaurant with some of the best food I ever had, terrific drinks and one of the better driving ranges in Cleveland. I've been there a half dozen times and it never seems to disappoint. If you are well enough off to be a member or partial member, go for it.  If not, get some friends that do like I do LOL. It's the type of place where if someone asks you to play there, you will take a day off of work. One of my favorite things at LCC is the fully stocked halfway house with tons of sandwiches, snacks, and all the beers you can drink. Between the facilities, amenities, and how well they keep the grounds, it reminds me of some of the nicer courses in Florida.  As you pull up, attendants grab your bags and clean up your clubs for you, and stock your cart with anything you ask.  A lot of good members as well.  I have had several convos with different members and it was always enjoyable.   Make sure to keep your hat forward and your shirt tucked in though, they will be on you in 2.2 seconds lol.

Honorable Mention-  Red Tail Golf Club in Avon. Another beautiful place with great amenities, food and facilities.  It has been a minute since I have been there but if I remember correctly, I thought it was a nice place but LCC gave me that high-level treatment and FL vibes.

Style Caddies Golf Recommended Outfit- You have to step up your game here.  Make sure to keep that shirt in and hat forwards.  I like to be less loud at places like this but still show my personality.  On a nice spring day, I am going with our Dark Cement Golf Polo Shirt with our Black on Black Sunglasses followed by our All Day Gray Performance Hat. On a hotter day, I will switch out the shirt for our Diamonds Polo.
